Many women have been linked to our Primetime King Coco Martin, but only one “queen” have ruled his heart most of his life.
Who else but the woman instrumental in molding Coco to become the affable, concerned, approachable and wonderful person that he is, on and off cam? She is his paternal grandmother, Lola Matilde Nacianceno.
It really is no secret that Coco, or Rodel Nacianceno in real life, has been specially close to his Lola Matilde ever since he was a little tyke, when he was brought to her care as her parents were separated.
With this arrangement, Coco learned the ways of the world—from being a street kid to finding means of livelihood independently. But despite living his own life—from doing odd jobs, such as being a promodizer then waiter to even getting a near break in showbiz when he was younger—Coco would still accede to his queen’s wishes and finish his schooling.
It shows how deeply he loves his grandmother with all his heart.
And when Coco did make his way to that pedestal in show business—from working as an extra in a comedy show to the critically acclaimed “Masahista” to landing major teleserye projects Tayong Dalawa, Walang Hanggan, Juan Dela Cruz, and the now long-running, top-rating primetime teleserye FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano, Coco will always be Rodel, a loving grandson.
