FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano has no plans of stopping any time soon. The longest-running teleserye still has new stories to show and it’s bringing a cast of talented new artists to join the cast.
This new chapter will be launched on screens for the show’s sixth anniversary this coming September. In the 6th anniversary story conference, FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano directors Malu Sevilla, Kevin De Vela, Albert Langitan, and actor-director Coco Martin warmly welcomed the six new actors and actresses to the team. These are Marela Torre, Joseph Marco, Vangie Labalan, Tommy Abuel, Rosanna Roces, and Julia Montes, who is set for a much-anticipated onscreen reunion with Coco.
Coco shared how grateful he and the rest of the creative team are to have them on board, “Talagang pinili po namin… Talagang kayo po ‘yong nababagay sa role, sa karakter na bagong papasok, kasi isa po sa sikreto ng FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano ay ang mga artista namin.”
The new chapter of FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano will be explored in a new location so Cardo (Coco Martin) and the rest of the gang will be meeting new characters along the way as well.
Marela Torre, the daughter of prominent actor Joel Torre, will be taking on the role of Amor, a childhood friend of Lucas and Mara. The rising actress claims that this opportunity is something she has been waiting for and now that it is here, she is very hungry to learn and work with everyone.
After his great work as Avel on Ang Sa Iyo Ay Akin, Joseph Marco is ready to join the FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano family as Lucas, the childhood friend of Amor and Mara. Joseph claims that he’s been wanting to work with Coco Martin for a long time so this project is especially exciting for him.
Veteran actress Vangie Labalan is nervous but thrilled to play the powerful matriarch Lucia on the show. She understands how the story will be a fight among the strongest and she is prepared for the challenges that her role will undergo. Joining one of the biggest teleseryes of the nation is a great fulfillment for her so she definitely wants to deliver.
Award-winning actor Tommy Abuel will also be gracing us with his acting prowess in his role as Armando, who will be one of Cardo’s trustworthy companions in the new community. As someone who’s been watching the show for a long time, Tommy is honored and proud to be able to contribute to the action-packed teleserye’s story.
Rosanna Roces will also be adding FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano to her list of amazing projects as she takes on the role of Lolita, Armando’s daughter and Mara’s mother. She feels ecstatic to have been invited to take the role because she’s been a fan of the show since it began. When she was given this project, she put everything else on hold so she could focus on giving her best for the show.
Julia Montes, one of this generation’s most talented actresses, will also be joining the cast, which many netizens are raving about. It has been six years since her last project with Coco and three years since her popular teleserye Asintado, and more than a year since her weekly series 24/7 so thousands look forward to her portrayal of Mara in the new chapter of FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano. The Kapamilya actress shares that she is excited and thankful. For her, to be a part of the top rated teleserye is not just a project but a great honor.
Coco is thankful for all the support the show has been receiving through the six years and promised to keep on delivering top-quality performances and production, “Sisiguraduhin po namin na mas kaabang-abang, mas maganda, mas maaksyon, mas madrama. At sisiguraduhin po namin na hindi po namin kayo bibiguin.”
