“FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano” released a new official poster featuring Coco Martin and Julia Montes after their characters, Cardo and Mara, came face-to-face for the very first time. The action-drama series also set another all-time high record of live viewers on YouTube Monday night (November 15).
The poster, which fans commended for exuding Hollywood cool, shows the two stars dressed in black from head to toe, striking a pose on a motorcycle with their guns drawn.
The highly-anticipated first encounter between Cardo and Mara finally happened as they engaged in an intense standoff following a series of non-stop gunfights between their respective groups as they were being hunted down by government authorities.
As the story continues this week, Cardo and Mara’s groups will try to figure out each other’s motives while fighting the authorities that surround the building where they are currently hiding. Cardo’s enemies will also come after him after his name gets involved in the hostage-taking of Don Ignacio (Tommy Abuel), a millionaire businessman and an ally of first lady Lily Hidalgo (Lorna Tolentino).
However, it is actually Mara’s group who is holding Don Ignacio hostage. In an attempt to save their lives and escape from the police, Mara’s group, led by Armando (John Estrada), will offer to join forces with Cardo and Task Force Agila.
Will Cardo be able to trust Mara and her clan?
After Cardo and Mara’s face-off, viewers tuned in to the action-packed episode on Monday (November 15), which set another all-time high record of 169,000 live concurrent viewers on Kapamilya Online Live on YouTube.
“FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano” continues to go all-out in its celebration of its sixth anniversary this year. After welcoming Megastar Sharon Cuneta as its newest cast member, the show’s stars also commemorated their anniversary on “ASAP Natin ‘To” and “Magandang Buhay” last week.
“FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano,” which topped the list of the most watched TV programs among U.S. multicultural Asian homes in September, is also available to viewers in and out of the Philippines on iWantTFC, while viewers outside of the Philippines can watch on The Filipino Channel (TFC) on cable and IPTV.
