25 Aug – Yassi Pressman recently defended co-star Coco Martin over his previous outburst following the news of ABS-CBN’s failure to renew its TV license.

As reported on Inquirer, the actress who spoke to the media about the issue stated that people need to understand that Martin was concerned for the many people who lost their jobs following the shutdown.

“Please understand that many of the guys who lost their jobs were the same people we’ve worked with on the set daily; the make-up artists, the people who clean our set, the ones who build it, the guys who buy us coffee. We feel their pain… That’s where the pain or anger was coming from,” she said.

Pressman also recollected that the cast and crew even went out to the pool following news of the shutdown, and silently cried together in sadness over the situation.

Martin, who also produces the said show, was previously singled out by bashers for defending ABS-CBN in a May protest against the decision, emphasising how the shutdown was affecting him and 11,000 of ABS-CBN employees who lost their livelihood.
