MANILA — Abra’s bet, Myrna Esguerra, was crowned Binibining Pilipinas International 2024 in the pageant’s 60th coronation night on Sunday.

Esguerra bested 39 other contestant’s for the pageant’s crown, with Jasmine Bungay of Pampanga bagging the Binibining Pilipinas Globe 2024.

In the Top 15 question and answer portion, Esguerra was asked: “If a time machine brings you back to 1964, 60 years ago when Binibining Pilipinas began, what message would you tell the Filipino women of that time about the women of 2024?”

“I will tell the women of the past that we have achieved our goal, which is to empower women, standing here at the age of 17, I started to finance for my own studies and help my family financially,” Abra’s beauty queen said.

“I was able to do this by all those women who paved the way to empowered us, to always reach for our goals no matter what it is because in life, we can always achieve our dreams as long as we believe that we can and thanks to them all,” she added.

Esguerra also won 5 special awards, including Best in National Costume, Best in Swimsuit, and Best in Evening Gown.

Binibining Pilipinas International 2023 will first represent the Philippines in the Miss International pageant this year. Esguerra will be the country’s bet next year.
