In a December 6, 2023 interview with MJ Marfori, Andrea talked about why she’s not completely *allowed* to take a break from her showbiz career.
“Ano kumusta? Kaya pa?” the TV5 reporter asked the 20-year-old Senior High star.
“Hindi naman pwedeng mag-stop. Marami po akong kailangang gawin. Marami po akong kailangang bayaran,” Andrea answered.
Earlier this December 2023, Andrea’s mother, Belle Brillantes, made a brave response against a rude netizen insinuating that Andrea had a poor upbringing. Belle defended her daughter and said, “paano? Napagtapos niya sa school mga kapatid niya, nakapagpagawa ng bahay, may sariling negosyo, ikaw anong ambag mo sa mundo?”
Her comment confirmed how Andrea has been a breadwinner in their family since she became one of the brightest stars in the industry. She started working as an actress when she was 7 years old.
Even at a young age, Andrea knows how to value her family, whom she says is her anchor amid various tirades against her. “I am very thankful for my mom and sister, they really help me balance things out,” she noted.
She also talked about knowing more about achieving “personal growth” because of her character as Sky in Senior High. In the series, Sky investigates to find the truth about her twin’s death inside their school, Northford High. Because of her character, Andrea says that she learned how to think and strategize even in real life.
“Hindi dapat sumusugod ka rin lagi. Dapat nagsstrategize ka rin and pino-process mo rin ‘yung emotions mo. Huwag lang sugod na baril lang nang baril ng kung ano-anong salita, dapat nag-iisip din,” the actress remarked.
Recently, Andrea has been embroiled in cheating allegations linking her to Daniel Padilla, after reports of alleged secret meet-ups with Daniel surfaced this year. However, Andrea, together with Daniel, are still keeping their silence regarding the controversy.
