Andrea Brillantes had a lot to say to people saying hurtful things about her on social media.

In one of her YouTube videos, Andrea reacted to mean comments where she revealed she got bashed by ARMY for being a fan of BTS. She also happens to be a huge BLACKPINK fan.

“Seeing Andrea Brillantes jamming to BTS songs makes me cringe,” read one netizen’s comment from 2018.

Andrea shared, “Alam mo yung dahil fan ako ng BLACKPINK, siyempre nakikita ko BTS tapos nagkaroon ako ng obsession sa kanila. Kaso binash ako ng buong ARMY dahil lang nagustuhan ko ang BTS.”

According to Philstar, Andrea was called by some netizens a “bandwagoner,” “fake fan,” and a “poser.” She also used to receive death threats for becoming a BTS fan.

“Sobrang grabe ng hate, parang natakot na din ako silang mahalin. Sabi ko, ‘Sige na nga, ‘di na lang ako magmamahal ng kahit ano.’ Char. So ‘yon, ngayon wala na ‘kong pake, actually. Na-realize ko na lahat ng mamahalin ko, lahat ng magiging fan ako na something, ihe-hate nila ‘ko so wala na ‘kong pake.”

For now, Andrea is happy to be a BLACKPINK fan. In 2020, she even debuted a new hair color and totally ~twinned~ with Jennie!

“At least masaya ‘ko. Masaya ‘ko sa BLACKPINK. Solid kami niyan.”

In a 2019 IG post, Andrea said she has been a fan of the K-pop girl group since 2016. She also considers them as her “inspiration” for her photoshoots and dance numbers.

“I’ve been a fan of them for almost three years now. Lahat ng friends ko, alam kung gaano ko kamahal yung mga girls na ‘to. Sila inspiration ko sa photoshoots, every time na sasayaw ako sa stage [o] kakanta, sa lahat ng performance na gagawin ko.”

‘You were my longest and most difficult dream to come true.’

“Hinahangaan ko silang lahat, sa hard work nila, sacrifices, sa magandang ugali nila at sa pagmamahal nila sa  BLINKS. Someday, I want to be just like these girls. Mahal ko kayo. Thank you so much for being such a good inspiration to a lot of girls.”
