The “Pantropiko” dance craze that captured the nation by storm has also hit the 2024 Binibining Pilipinas pageant as the candidates moved to the beat of the viral ditty by P-Pop girl group BINI.
For this year’s dance workshop, which has now become an annual event for the pageant, the 40 ladies learned the steps to the viral dance craze from Joe Abuda, managing director of Addlib Dance Studio, together with hia crew.
The studio, located at the Araneta City in Quezon City, ignited with the sizzling moves of the binibinis during the dance session held on Friday, April 26.
Several binibinis caught the eyes of the dance crew with their impressive moves–Anthea Abanico of Lipa City, Nicklyn Jutay of Ilioilo City, Gracelle Distura of Lucena City, Rendelle Ann Caraig of Los Banos, Laguna, Shannen Manzano of General Santos City and Kylie Atilano of Zamboanga.
But it was Aleckxis Chuidian from Parañaque City who stood out the most and received the coveted “Best Dancer” citation at the end of the afternoon dance session.
The Binibining Pilipinas pageant, the longest-running national beauty contest in the Philippines, is marking six decades of championing the greatness of Filipino women on the global stage this year.
This year’s winners will represent the Philippines in the 2025 Miss International and 2024 Miss Globe pageants. The new queens will be proclaimed at the coronation show to be held at the Smart Araneta Coliseum at the Araneta City in Quezon City at a date that will be announced soon.
