Wow! Nadine Lustre was just named Outstanding Performer By An Actress In A Leading Role for Never Not Love You, at the 67th Filipino Academy of Movie Arts and Sciences Awards (FAMAS) held yesterday at the Meralco Theater.

Never Not Love You features the story of two lovers whose relationship gets tested by varying career opportunities.

The actress took to Instagram stories to share her achievement, tagging directors Antoinette Jadaone, Dan Villegas, and James Reid“Atin to,” she captioned the photo.

In her acceptance speech, Nadine reveals just how challenging the year 2017 was, during which Never Not Love You was filmed.

“October 2017 may malaking bagyo na dumating sa buhay ko, sobrang laki ng damage na ginawa sa buhay ko. Ilang beses ko din po gustong umatras. Kahit po nandun ako sa lowest point ng buhay ko, naitawid ko po with flying colors,” she shared.

Though she didn’t identify the obstacle she faced, Nadine might be referring to the time when she was dealing with depression and suicidal thoughts in 2017. Her brother Isaiah also passed away that year.

‘My life became different in one snap. I was really insecure.’

She also acknowledged James, saying, “Salamat kay James na lagi akong pinu-push to be at my very best at sinisigurado na naaalala ko na I am bigger than any storm that comes my way.”

Fans will remember how the filming of #NNLY got “packed up”, but both Nadine and Antoinette have long clarified their then misunderstandings. Clearly, the issue totally looks like water under the bridge, now.

Nadine has also won the Young Critics Circle Film Desk (YCC-FD) Best Performance award for Never Not Love You.
