“Hello Love Again” may have already wrapped up but fans are still craving for some untold and behind-the-scenes stories from the team and even the actors behind the mega hit movie.

That’s why ABS-CBN News sat down with Joross Gamboa, who played a pivotal role in adding comic relief and a little bit of conscience to Kathryn Bernardo’s character Joy Marie Fabregas, as his best buddy Ethan (played by Alden Richards) try to win Joy’s heart again.

One particular scene in the movie — when Ethan and Jim were in the staff room trying to clean up some mess on Ethan’s shirt, caught up with Joy.

But Jim caught Joy staring at Ethan and wittingly said: “Staff looking.”

That short scene drew some cheers and laughs from the audience.

“Noong tinake namin ‘yun, parang waley. Kumbaga, kapag eksena paulit-ulit, hindi niyo na maramdaman. ‘Staff looking’ tapos umaadlib pa ko ng may staff over tayo, uy nagloloko kasi yung staff light doon.”

Joross revealed why director Cathy Garcia-Sampana would always pick him to be part of her movies. Some even say that Joross is Sampana’s lucky charm.

“May ganun na nga. There was a time, na pinagbawal ako kay direk. Kami kasi ‘yung core ni direk Cathy. Ang explanation kasi niya, sinasabi niya ‘kilala niyo na ako, alam ninyo na kung ano ‘yung gusto ko, mas aasikasuhin ko na lang ‘yung mga other cast, kayo matanda na kayo,” said Joross

When asked if the punchlines he delivers in movies were scripted or adlibbed, Joross said that at first he was just allowed to do so since his adlibs worked

Eventually, other directors just let him come up with adlibbed punchlines since they noticed that they work within the script of the movie

“Si Direk Cathy nung part 1 napansin niya, mahirit ako. Pinag-bibigyan niya ako. Nung part 2 ng John Lloyd sarah, sige hanggang sa doon sa mga ‘My amnesia girl’, ‘Starting Over Again’. Hinahayaan na ako nung mga direktor kasi napapansin nila nagwowork yung pag-a-adlib.” Joross explained.

Aside from being the comic relief, fans have been tagging Joross as the third wheel to Kathryn and Alden during their Canada shoot.

“Lahat naman kami naka-wheels noon, so parang third wheel pero ang plano ko nga kasi doon ilibot sila sa Banff, kaya lang alam mo naman sina Kath at Alden, alaga sa katawan nila, ang ending nag-gym na lang kami,” he said.
