Joshua Garcia turned emotional when asked about the recent controversy over him allegedly direct messaging a girl on Instagram. In an interview with Boy Abunda, the 20-year-old The Good Son actor said, “Di kasi madali ang nangyaring yun eh. Ang daming nag-judge.” Rumors also circulated online saying that he and girlfriend Julia Barretto had broken up because of the private messaging incident.

In March, Twitter user @danerhea shared a screenshot of an IG DM Joshua allegedly sent to her. In reference to her beach post, the young actor wrote the words “art photo.”

‘Nainis, na-hurt? Para sa akin, yes.’

When asked about the “mystery girl,” Joshua replied, “Si Dane, wala siya sa buhay ko. Hindi siya naging parte o anuman. Kinompliment ko lang naman yung picture eh. Wala namang nangyaring conversation.”

Joshua then admitted what transpired in his relationship with Julia after the rumor exploded but shared that things have already been worked out between them. He said, “Dahil doon, yes, nag-away kami. Naayos. Hindi lang naging madali pero kaya naman. Sobrang okay naman ngayon.”

With everything that’s happened, Joshua said he is still thankful for the recent hiccup in their relationship because of what he learned from it. He said, “Masaya ako na nangyari yun, kasi may mga natutunan ako, na ingatan ko yung ginagalawan kong mundo. Siguro may gusto sa ‘kin iparating si Lord, may gusto siya na matutunan ko, and narinig ko siya.“
