Kathryn Bernardo clears the air about her viral night jog with another Kapamilya actor, Jericho Rosales.

ICYMI, Kathryn and Jericho made waves online for a couple of photos spotting them having a spontaneous night jog just a week ago—two days after Jericho’s confirmed split with his former wife, Kim Jones.

With the two Kapamilya stars together, netizens couldn’t help but nod at a “possible romance” between the two. However, Kathryn took the liberty to clarify that it was just a random and friendly workout session. Besides, it was not just the two of them jogging that time, but Kath’s friend and Echo’s nephew, John Manalo was with them.

It was John who invited Kath to do some night jogging. “Ang random! Si John Manalo is a good, good friend of mine… So nagkita kami ‘noon kasi magwo-work out talaga ako that day tapos na-mention niya magjo-jogging sabi niya, “Gusto mo sumama?” Then I said, “Okay. Why not?” Kaysa mag-work out ako mag-isa,” Kath explained in an interview with MJ Felipe.

She added, “It was parang mga 11, late na, and then we were just having fun and working out, ayun lang.”

Will there be a Kathryn Bernardo-Jericho Rosales project soon?

Their viral photos online not only sparked intrigue between the two newly single celebrities but also sparked interest in the possibility of seeing them act together in one project as leads.

When asked if a project would soon materialize for them, Kath responded with, “Ngayon kasi, siyempre may ipi-pitch sila, hindi ko alam kung pwede na ba siya sabihin or anything, but you know, like what I’ve said before, I’m very open to work with anybody now. Especially, Echo, he’s been very vocal.”

Their night jog moment was not the first time that Kath and Echo were spotted together at an event. During the famous star maker, Johnny Manahan more known as Mr. M‘s birthday celebration, the two were among the invited celebrities which also included Bea Alonzo, Maja Salvador, John Lloyd Cruz, Piolo Pascual, and more.

“He’s such a nice guy. Sobrang bait niya. So ayaw mo bang maka-trabaho ‘yung ganon? So let’s just see. I just wish the universe will do something about it. Let’s see,” Kath told MJ while referring to Echo.

Later on, it appeared that Kath and Echo were mingling with the same group of celebrity friends as they were again seen together in some photos with other celebrities at Maja’s gender reveal party.

Jericho Rosales’ longtime wish to work with Kathryn Bernardo

There are a lot of celebrities who wish to work with Kathryn, especially now that she has fully spread her wings outside the bounds of a love team. But before anyone else, Echo was one of those actors who had been wishing for a project with Kathryn for years already.

As early as 2016, Echo already opened up about his honest thoughts about Kath’s beauty and acting prowess. “I really wanna work with her… even Kim [Jones] and I, we really find her beautiful, parang Pinay na maganda. Of course hindi ko na i-explain kung bakit madaming humahanga sa kanya,” he said in an interview uploaded by their home talent agency, Star Magic.

Echo furthered by sharing his hypothetical character if ever he ends up having a project with Kathryn. “May pumitik sa isip ko na, ano kaya kung meron akong role na parang bodyguard niya or something like that, something to that effect,” he stated. Back then, Kath was still focused on her love team, KathNiel, with former partner Daniel Padilla.

In 2019, Echo expressed his intent to work with the phenomenal actress—who at the time was working outside of her love team for the first time. Kath was filming her blockbuster film with Alden Richards, Hello, Love, Goodbye at the time. Echo declared that he was willing to wait for the chance to act with Kathryn.
