It was first reported that Nadine backed out of the movie due to medical concerns. According to a letter sent by Viva President and COO Vincent Del Rosario, “[Nadine] has begged off the project due to medical concerns and her resulting inability to perform her duties as an actress during the shoot up to the promotion of the film.”

Speaking to MJ Felipe of ABS-CBN, Nadine clarified that she just wants to take a break and relax. Nadine said, “It’s really simple, I’ve done two movies this year and I’m also doing a show for [ABS-CBN], I just really thought na it’s time for me to take a break and relax.”

Nadine continued, “Ayoko ma-burnout ako and eventually, I start to dislike what I love doing. I want to focus now on taking care of myself kasi I’m not getting any younger.”

But she’s ‘really honored’ that fans wanted her to play the role.

Replacing Nadine in the upcoming movie will be Bela Padilla. Nadine welcomed the change and said that she’s very happy that Bela has been chosen for the part. The FAMAS Best Actress said, “Alam ko naman na si Bela, she’s very talented. She’s a very good actress.”
