Fresh off announcing its latest Fall 2024 anime streaming lineup and December 2024 home video releases, Crunchyroll revealed that it has licensed MAPPA’s original anime series ZENSHU and unveiled its panel programming at this year’s New York Comic Con.
Here’s what to expect from the company at the upcoming convention:
Overlord: The Sacred Kingdom Sneak Peek
With Crunchyroll’s return to New York Comic Con, attendees will get a sneak peek at the Overlord: The Sacred Kingdom anime film, with director Naoyuki Ito and Madhouse producer Kentaro Hashimoto making an appearance at a panel as well. The latest film in the Overlord franchise will begin screening in U.S theaters on November 8, 2024, with Crunchyroll releasing a new English-subbed trailer to promote it.
Most recently, the company and A PLUS JAPAN announced earlier this week that it will be producing a new mobile turn-based RPG called Lord of Nazarick.
Crunchyroll Licenses MAPPA’s ZENSHU Anime Series
Crunchyroll confirmed that the original anime series ZENSHU will stream on its service in the future. NYCC attendees will be able to get a first look at the series when the “world premiere” trailer is shown at the Crunchyroll industry panel.
More new announcements and reveals are expected to be made at the industry panel.

Fairy Tail and Edens Zero creator Hiro Mashima will be featured on the main stage at this year’s New York Comic Con for an in-person conversation. He will discuss the ongoing series sequel, Fairy Tail: 100 Years Quest, as well as his body of work spanning over two decades.
Yen Press, Tapas, and Crunchyroll Presents: The Beginning After the End Author TurtleMe
Crunchyroll is teaming up with publishers Tapas and Yen Press for a webtoon panel featuring The Beginning After the End author TurtleMe. The company is also teasing a “special surprise” involving the series.
