Kris Aquino on ex-boyfriend Mark Leviste: ‘We’re not enemies, we just weren’t meant for each other’
Politiko scion Kris Aquino is giving more deets about her recent split with Batangas Vice Governor Mark Leviste.
In another personal post on Instagram, Kris opened up about her realization that Leviste was not ready to fully commit to someone living on borrowed time.
“I gave you a cleansed version of why i ended my relationship with Marc. i didn’t lie when i said a long distance relationship is difficult,” she said.
“BUT i saw he has many dreams left to fulfill and many obligations to the people who gave him their vote. Sadly, i’m in the battle of my life precisely because i’m doing all i can to save my life because my 2 sons still need me,” she said.
The distance proved to be a significant hurdle in their relationship. The actress/television host has been staying in the United States for over a year while getting medical treatment for her autoimmune ailments.
Kris acknowledged that Leviste has a life beyond taking care of her. And even if they stayed together, Kris believed that the relationship would eventually falter due to the challenges of distance.
“I apologize for seeming selfish but why will i add stress in my life when i see his posts enjoying himself when i am suffering 8,000 miles away?” she said.
“If we had tried to stay together as a couple the ending would still be the same, tao rin ako na mapipikon at magtatampo dahil mararamdaman kong, hindi ba nya naisip ang hirap na pinagdadaanan ko?” she said.
It became apparent to Kris that Leviste was not quite prepared to bear the responsibilities that come with a serious relationship with her.
“Kaya minabuti ko nang sa kin nang manggaling kasi nakita at naramdaman kong hindi sya handa sa responsibilidad ng seryosong relasyon kasama ang isang babae na tinatanggap ang realidad na yung buhay nya ngayon ay pinahiram na oras lamang ng Diyos,” she added.
Despite their split, the two remain on amicable terms.
“Pareho kaming may karapatan na mabuhay sa paraan na pinaka payapa ang mga puso namin. i’m keeping my word that he will never read nor hear me saying anything negative about him because what for? We’re not enemies, we just weren’t meant for each other.”
Responding to Kris’ IG post, Leviste conveyed his affection with the message:
“Love, love, love you-all 💛💛💛”
Leviste’s previous visits to Kris abroad sparked rumors about their budding romance. The two later confirmed their relationship. Their love story however came to an end last week.
Kris announced on Instagram about her decision to pause her relationship with Leviste over her health issues as well as difficulties of a long distance relationship.
