Kapuso Primetime Queen Marian Rivera continues to capture the hearts of Asian viewers as she bags the title of “Most Favorite Foreign Artist” in a poll conducted by Vietnam’s Today TV channel last December.

She is the first to get the recognition.

Kapuso Primetime King Dingdong Dantes emerged as the top foreign actor.

Today TV channel, one of Vietnam’s largest as well as the first free-to-air TV station that showed Filipino dramas in Vietnam, conducted the “Most Favorite Artist” poll contest in its Facebook account last December.

Of the top four contenders, Dingdong Dantes and Marian Rivera emerged as the favorite foreign artists of Vietnamese fans along with local male and female celebrities Thanh Thuc and Ha Mi. Among the four, Marian garnered the most votes and was declared as the poll’s Most Favorite Foreign Artist.

Marian and Dingdong have endeared themselves to the people of Vietnam, where two of their hit dramas – Marimar and Dyesebel – had aired and gained a huge following.

This year, their popularity in Vietnam is expected to persist as another Dingdong-Marian starrer, Ang Babaeng Hinugot Sa Akin Tadyang, is slated to air on Today TV.

Marian visited Vietnam last year and received an overwhelming welcome from her Vietnamese fans.

In a post in her Instagram account last week after she received news of the recognition, Marian thanked her fans in Vietnam. “I will always strive to be even better to deserve your support,” she assured.

Marian was nominated Best Actress in a Leading Role for her dramatic performance in Temptation of Wife at the Asian Television Awards in December 2013 in Singapore. The show was also aired in Vietnam and was a big hit.

Back home, Marian is poised to rule Primetime once more.

She is currently taping her upcoming series Carmela: Ang Pinakamagandang Babae sa Mundong Ibabaw, which will premiere on January 27 on GMA Telebabad and where she teams up with Kapuso hunk Alden Richards for the first time.
