Kathryn Bernardo graced Mega Magazine’s April 2024 self-love issue in a stunning cover shoot! She looked so gorgeous (as always!), donning bohemian fashion and showcasing her toned physique with the beautiful view of El Nido, Palawan in the background.

In an interview with the fashion magazine, the actress opened up for the first time about moving on, healing, and forgiveness following her split with Daniel Padilla. She shared how she learned to compartmentalize and recalled managing her professional commitments while overcoming a breakup.

“I mean, you’re a human being. You have to experience all the process, all the pain, lahat [all]. But I always make sure that when it comes to my work, nothing is affected,” she said. “I didn’t want people to see me as a victim or to feel bad for me because it happened. So, for me, the best way to cope up was, first, I needed to heal and to look at the bright side.”

Kathryn also mentioned that the month of February served as the “new January” for her, “Parang yun yung tapos na [It’s like the end]I know that I’m okay. I can say I’m healed.”

The “A Very Good Girl” star even said distance is her way of protecting her peace and talked about her thoughts on forgiveness, emphasizing she could only forgive people who deserve it.

“Ang lalim kasi ng word na forgiveness [The word forgiveness has a deep meaning]. For me, you can forgive people who deserve it. But when I forgive you, it doesn’t mean that I have to keep you in my life. I forgive you for my peace of mind, for clarity, and for everything,” she told Mega Magazine.

“But it doesn’t mean na puwede kang bumalik [But it doesn’t mean that you’re allowed to come back]. It depends. I’ll just keep my distance; you keep your distance. We’re okay like that. I mean, kunwari [for example], I got hurt, why would I allow you to come back? It depends. It’s a case-to-case basis.”
