An article by the Manila Bulletin from September 11 has revealed that Angelica Yulo could soon be a popular face in the country’s beauty pageant circuit. “The president of Mrs. Philippines Organization has invited Angelica Yulo… to join their pageant scheduled for March of next year with a P150,000 grand prize,” reports the article. The decision came after the reigning Mrs. Philippines, Erika Joy Santos, was impressed by the Olympic gymnast’s mother’s fashion sense and the latter’s determination to raise her four children.

“I wish to speak to Angelica. Maybe I can, you know, be somehow a relief to her. She’s very much welcome to join Mrs. Philippines 2025,” Santos has been quoted saying in the article. She further noted that it was her faith in “the goodness and kindness of motherhood” that prompted her to take notice of Angelica’s lifelong struggle to ensure her kids found their place in the world.

Referring to the Yulo family turbulence, the national beauty icon also had a message to send to Carlos’ mother. “My advice to Miss Angelica Yulo is to love yourself. Stop crying. Always smile. And remember that time heals all wounds!” advises Santos. Now, as Angelica Yulo looks to make her mark away from the shadows of her athlete children, her second child might not be feeling so good nonetheless, and for proper reasons.

“Apart from the incentives, my mom also had access to my bank account and my monthly allowances for gymnastics. When I finally got control of that bank account, I found out she had been draining it. I have the bank statements showing the withdrawals she made,” the Filipino gymnast dropped a massive bomb on the gymnastics community just days after his triumphs in Paris. With his girlfriend by his side, Carlos claimed that his mother mishandled his financial statements and sent out a shockwave across the world and among the connoisseurs of the sport. However, a long list of gifts, including a three-bedroom condo in Manila by the national government and a Land Cruiser Prado SUV by Toyota Motors Philippines, sought to bring a smile to his face. Amidst the ongoing fiasco, Angelica stunned the world once again on September 8. In an unexpected move, she has decided to sell Carlos’ childhood home at Green Park Villas 2, Malagasang 2C, Imus, Cavite.
