Filipino designer Mak Tumang shared a closer look at Ahtisa Manalo’s iridescent number in the evening gown competition of Miss Cosmo held in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam on Saturday night.

On Instagram, Mak posted photos of the gown which featured a sheer underlay embroidered with different colors of sequins in a figure-highlighting pattern.

Mak said iridescence and shifting colors reminiscent of the cosmos inspired Ahtisa’s gown.

“Just as stars and galaxies display a spectrum of hues against the dark void, iridescent surfaces change with light and angle, creating a magical interplay,” he said.

Mak is also the designer who crafted Catriona Gray’s iconic lava gown in Miss Universe 2018.

For the swimsuit competition, she set the stage on fire in a bright red two-piece. For the national costume round, she donned a Dyesebel-inspired costume.

Despite her sprained ankle, the Filipina beauty was still present during the closed-door interviews and also walked the jury session flawlessly in her flowy long gown and neon swimsuit.

Ahtisa had previously represented the country in Miss International 2018, where she was named first runner-up.
