Former Cleveland Cavaliers guard Brandon Goodwin took to social media and reacted to Patrick Beverley saying that he finally knows how LeBron James feels now that countless people are frequently asking him for pictures.

Beverley, who spent last season playing for the Philadelphia 76ers and Milwaukee Bucks, now plays for Hapoel Tel Aviv of the Israeli Basketball Premier League.

A solid role player during his NBA career, Beverley is certainly a big name to have playing overseas, but it may be a little bit of a stretch to think that he knows exactly how James — one of the biggest celebrities in the world — feels.

The Los Angeles Lakers star is the NBA’s all-time leading scorer, a four-time NBA champion and has won multiple league and NBA Finals MVP awards. James’ celebrity status in the United States and worldwide is much bigger than Beverley’s ever was in the NBA, so it’s hard to compare the two.

Goodwin certainly seems to think Beverley’s comments were a little bit of a stretch. Last season, Goodwin played professionally in Puerto Rico in the Baloncesto Superior Nacional.

Prior to that, Goodwin played four seasons in the NBA with three different teams. He made his NBA debut in the 2018-19 season with the Denver Nuggets before playing two seasons as a member of the Atlanta Hawks.

In the 2021-22 season, Goodwin appeared in 36 games for the Cavs and made five starts.

The 28-year-old played a career-high 13.9 minutes per game for Cleveland, but he has not played in the NBA since. With the Cavs, Goodwin averaged 4.8 points, 1.9 rebounds, 2.5 assists and 0.7 steals per game in the regular season while shooting 41.6 percent from the field and 34.5 percent from beyond the arc.

Beverley had a much more successful NBA career than Goodwin, but the former All-Defensive selection may be giving himself a little too much credit with his recent comments regarding James.

James, who just helped Team USA to a gold medal in the 2024 Paris Olympics, is preparing for another NBA season with Los Angeles. He will turn 40 years old during the 2024-25 campaign, showing his historic longevity as one of the world’s best basketball players.

It’ll be interesting to see if Beverley responds to Goodwin in any way on social media.
