Although their relationship soured, Donald Trump was once a mainstay alongside Howard Stern. In fact, Stern called Trump one of his best guests, given how unpredictable and candid he was all the time.

Stern and Trump had some debates, and one of them was Michael Jackson. At the time of the interview, MJ’s legacy was being debated given disturbing allegations. However, it seems like Trump wasn’t as harsh given his experiences with Jackson in the past.

In the following, we’re going to take a closer look at Trump’s interview comments about Jackson. We’ll also take a closer look at their unlikely friendship over the years, and what others said about their experience alongside MJ.

Donald Trump Had Pleasant Exchanges With Michael Jackson, While Howard Stern Didn’t Trust His Past

Throughout the years, Donald Trump was a regular on The Howard Stern Show. That changed during Trump’s presidential run. Nonetheless, the two had plenty of memorable moments, and one of them included Donald and Howard Stern debating their time alongside Michael Jackson. Trump revealed that Jackson was always cordial during their encounters. Howard Stern, on the other hand, didn’t have the best opinion of the artist given the disturbing rumors that were surfacing about his behavior at the time.

Trump said, “I knew Michael at his peak. He lives in Trump Tower, he has an apartment. Michael Jackson 15 years ago was the greatest superstar since Elvis.” Trump adds, “Some plastic surgeon blew it for him. Michael Jackson is smart and a very good guy.”

Stern interjects, “Wait a minute. Sleeping with kids in that room. Come on what’s up with that?” Trump responds, “I defended him but when I was asked if I would let my son Eric spend time with him, I said, ‘are you crazy.'”

Trump added that Jackson actually invited his son Eric to the Neverland Ranch when he was young, and although Stern instantly objected to the offer, Trump revealed he would’ve been fine with it.

The interview is certainly worth looking back on.

In truth, Trump’s history with MJ goes way back, and Donald was a major reason as to how the iconic artist met Lisa Marie Presley.

“I spoke to him for a little while. He was low-key, and I’d think, ‘There’s no way this guy is going out to that stage to perform.’”

In the winter of 1994, Trump’s Mar-a-Lago estate in Palm Beach, Florida gave Jackson and Lisa Marie the privacy to explore their relationship even further. Trump said of MJ’s connection to Presley, “I was there, and the magic of Mar-a-Lago brought it out, because after they left, it didn’t work so well. I can tell you, for at least a period of time, these two folks were really getting it on.”

Sean Diddy Combs Also Had An Interview Resurface In Which He Discussed Partying With Michael Jackson

Often times, Michael Jackson was a major point of interest during interviews. That held true during Sean Diddy Combs’ interview with David Letterman years ago. Similar to Trump, Diddy revealed what MJ was really like behind the scenes. Diddy revealed that MJ had more swagger than people thought. The now-disgraced artist told the story about Jackson attending his party randomly, in search of Beyoncé.

“I didn’t even invite Mike to the party and he just showed up to the party. So I’m in the party, I’m hosting, and the security came up to me and they were like, ‘Mr. Combs, Mr. Michael Jackson is here to see you.’ I’m like, ‘Get out of here!'”

“So I find Mike and… right after the shot was taken, he whispers in my ear and says ‘Where’s Beyonce?'” Diddy continues, “This is before Jay-Z,” Diddy clarified. “He came to the party to holler at Beyonce, finds her and dances with Beyonce in the party! Mike was smooth, Jack.”

One of the many stories that showed just how different Michael was behind the scenes despite all the disturbing rumors over the years.
