There is no denying that the Los Angeles Lakers have been having trouble winning another championship. Yes, it is true they did it in pandemic season but for some reason, after Kobe Bryant left things are just not the same and maybe it’s time to sell the team like Michael Jordan did in Charlotte.
They have struggled to get to the playoffs, things just don’t feel right. What has become interesting is that some fans believe that Jeanie Buss could be getting closer to getting rid of the Lakers, even if there is no indication that in fact that is her intention.
With that said, she has been in the eye of the hurricane and because of all this, she has been dealing with the topic and fielding questions about this subject. She was on a radio station talking about it and her answer will definitely surprise everyone.

What she said about selling the team
Jeanie Buss gave her comments about this as she was being interviewed during a radio show on AM 570 LA Sports. She was asked if, like other owners who sold the majority of the stakes of a franchise, to get something in return and let the franchise succeed.
She specifically talked about what Michael Jordan did in Charlotte. “I think that they’re just people always looking to challenge themselves, than something else,” she said on the matter. “Wyc had his success winning championships and maybe he wants to do something different. And same with Mark you know. He’s done a lot for lowering the cost of prescription drugs for people and I expect him to do more and more now.”
While criticism is still present, there is no question that the Lakers need to improve and with a new head coach and with LeBron James in his final years, they must have a win-now mentality.
Jeanie Buss suggests she would pay Lebron more if not for the salary cap when asked about the risk/mileage of Lebron playing in the Olympics as the Lakers biggest asset:
