Kathryn Bernardo and Alden Richards shared their experiences filming Hello, Love, Again in Canada. The stars shot the movie in Calgary for almost a month
In an interview with Bianca Gonzalez for TFC’s BRGY, Alden recalled that despite the hectic schedule, it was a smooth-sailing shoot as they already have a bond with the production team since Hello, Love, Goodbye.
“Parang we shot four to six times a week na straight. We really had to maximize our time there because it was very limited, and we also had a skeleton crew with us parang the same nung Hello, Love, Goodbye. But I think what made it easy despite of the challenges is ‘yung bond that we have as a group kasi same people din eh,” Alden relayed.
“Same writer, si direk Cathy (Garcia-Sampana), same team, so we really didn’t feel any parang hirap during the shoot kasi nga ‘yung bond namin still remained after five years,” the actor highlighted.
Alden added that there was also a good balance when it comes to the schedule of the scenes they would be shooting.
“There were light days, heavy days, may balance rin naman at the same time. But at the end of the day, it’s really the scene that was able to be shot, ‘yung fulfillment being able to retell another story of a well-loved film before,” he said.
Kathryn echoed what Alden said pointing out that though there were adjustments, working with the same team from Hello, Love, Goodbye made it less challenging.
“May adjustments but very minimal kasi nga same group so may rapport na na-build before and it is still there. Five years, fast-forward to 2024, parang same pa rin. Though may mga Canadian crew, may ibang tumulong sa amin kasi very limited lang talaga ‘yung na-fly from the Philippines,” she recalled.
“But overall experience it was challenging, challenging naman talaga kapag shooting abroad but maybe ‘yung nafe-feel ko everytime na umuuwi kami dun sa accommodation, happy ako no matter how tired I was. For example that day na emotionally tired and physically tired, happy ako kasi gusto ko ‘yung ginagawa ko,” she stated.
