On July 21, 2024, the basketball athlete made a dashing appearance at the GMA Gala 2024 for the first time, while Kyline had her first-ever solo walk on the red carpet! The event was held at the Manila Marriott Hotel, and it was packed with the industry’s biggest and brightest stars.

Although the two did not arrive at the event together, they made a shocking exit from the event as they were spotted leaving the venue with their arms linked. Indeed, that’s one way of making a statement about their relationship.

Cosmo got the chance to chat with Kobe on the event sidelines, where he responded to questions about his supposed date tonight. “A date? I mean I got invited last minute, so sino ba ‘to? I’m kinda confused,” he answered coyly.

FYI, people expected him to attend the red carpet event with his rumored girlfriend, Kyline. But tonight, Kobe was together with his brother Andre Paras. Kobe said that it became a family affair for the brothers. After all, Kobe left with the date we’re all expecting him to be with.

Kobe was also directly asked for the first time ever about the real score between him and Kyline. TBH, it wasn’t a direct answer, but he did not shy away from expressing support for a certain young actress.

“So for tonight, I’m just a boy who’s a fan. I think this is her first time walking alone. She deserves every spotlight. I know tonight she’s gonna look amazing but I haven’t seen her yet,” Kobe revealed.

The conversation continued with Kobe openly reacting to questions about Kyline. The dapper athlete noted how much he adores Kyline for her drive to succeed in everything she does.

“She’s very ambitious. She’s phenomenal at what she does. I get motivated myself seeing her do what she does. It’s her being ambitious. It’s so nice seeing a girl boss,” Kobe replied when asked about the thing he appreciates about Kyline.

With the interest we all have in Kobe’s love life RN, we couldn’t help but ask him about his ideal girlfriend. Kobe took a short pause and a deep breath before coyly answering the question. “There’s someone who’s gonna walk down tonight, ‘yun na ‘yon.”

As one of the final questions, Kobe briefly talked about his relationship deal breaker. Here’s what we got from the 26-year-old athlete: “Someone who’s rude. I feel like, you know, just being human and being here in the Philippines, the least we could do is just [be] respectful.” Respectful and ambitious—noted, Kobe! 😉

The rumor mill about the two celebrities began when they posted almost identical snaps of a restaurant which Kyline geotagged. Kyline’s photo was included in her usual IG carousel dump last May 19, 2024. On the other hand, Kobe uploaded it on his Instagram Stories—almost on the same day when Kyline uploaded her IG dump. This course of action from the two celebs left everyone speculating about a budding romance between the two.

Just last month, Kyline also responded to questions about her love life. All happy and single, she expressed how liberating it feels to embrace singlehood for a while. “So, yeah, ang sarap because I feel so free. I can do whatever I want. Not naman na when I’m in a relationship, I’m caged. Yeah, ang sarap lang po talaga,” she declared.

Of course, she was already asked about Kobe at the time. The response was a shy and coy answer: “I don’t know actually.” It may not be a direct answer, but the non-confirmation has us intrigued.
