Actress Kylie Padilla made a cryptic post about the qualities of a “great leader” who she defined as someone who can lead his family and “who’s loyal to his wife,” shortly after her estranged husband, actor Aljur Abrenica filed his Certificate of Candidacy (COC) for councilor in Angeles City, Pampanga.
Padilla took to Facebook on Monday, Oct. 7, to share her reflection, saying that a great leader is “a man who sees his family as his first unit.”
“A good indicator of a great leader is a man who can lead his family. That is his first unit, his first community. A man who raises his kids with good values, integrity, and humility. A man loyal to his wife and remains true despite obstacles. A man who has a heart close to God. Service is about what you can do for others, not what they can do for you,” she stated.
In the comments section, netizens expressed support to the “Encantadia” actress’ sentiments by saying that “a good father is an example of a good leader.”

“Absolutely! How can you lead the community when you’re not even a good leader to your family in the first place?” said one netizen on Facebook.
“So true. Since family is the smallest unit of society,” pitched in another netizen.
As of writing, Padilla’s post garnered 50k likes, 3.8k shares, and 2.6k comments.

Meanwhile, Padilla previously crushed a fan’s hope of her getting back together with Abrenica, saying that she and her children are “good” by themselves. The latter is now in a relationship with actress AJ Raval.
The 31-year-old actress admitted in a past interview that she tried to save her marriage with Abrenica even when the effort “was not returned.”
Last year, Abrenica confessed in an interview that he had cheated on Padilla, while the actress confirmed in July this year that she is now dating a non-showbiz guy who is rumored to be tattoo artist Jinno John Simon.
Abrenica and Padilla dated for six years before welcoming their two sons, Alas and Axl. They tied the knot in 2018 and announced their separation in 2021.
