Wedding bells are in the air for Jak Roberto and Barbie Forteza—but not yet in the near future.

At the GMA Gala 2024, Cosmo had the opportunity to catch up with Jak and ask him about his future plans with his beau. According to the actor, marriage is definitely in the cards for them, but there’s no rush—they’d rather take the opportunity to focus on their careers first.

Jak Roberto Opens Up On Future Plans With Barbie Forteza

“Marriage is something na, sabi nga nila, parang mainit na kanin na puwede mong iluwa kapag napaso [ka]. It takes a lot of preparation—financial and emotional, of course. We need to establish ourselves [first],” he shared.

Despite the seemingly long wait—they’ve been together for seven years, after all—Jak is sure that Barbie is the one for him.

“And of course, ‘pag tinanong naman ako kung sino na ba talaga, siyempre siya [Barbie] naman na talaga, but in the meantime, we maximize our career, we maximize our life together… We’re going strong naman,” he stressed.

One thing he did note that was holding them back were certain legalities in their career.

“‘Di natin masabi ngayon, kasi may mga contracts tayo and management, right? And ‘di natin puwede i-breach ‘yun. [But] in time, darating tayo diyan, but for now, let’s be thankful for what we have,” he concluded.

Barbie Forteza Reveals She And Jak Roberto Talk About Future Wedding Plans

In a recent interview with Boy Abunda, Barbie revealed that despite being together with Jak for seven years, she doesn’t believe in the “seven-year itch.”

“Hindi po. And napatunayan ko rin naman,” answered Barbie.  “Ang malaking factor po kasi na ang mature mag-handle ng relationship ni Jak.”

In fact, the actress revealed that Jak is even the one initiating the wedding talk.

“Kinikilig nga ako pag nag-se-send siya sa aking ng mga parang wedding video sa Instagram. Kasi parang sabi ko, ‘Ah, okay, so pumapasok sa isip niya.’ Tas sine-send niya sa akin so gusto niya na he wants to get involved in that area. Kasi di po ba ang mga boys ayaw nila yung nag–pla-plan ng wedding, di ba? So may ganun siya.”
