What would you do if you encountered your ex a couple of months after your breakup? Would you be able to greet them? Or even look straight in their eyes? In Mavy Legaspi’s case, he revealed that he actually smiled at his ex-girlfriend—after all, he’s all about moving forward in life.

The ex-girlfriend in question is his fellow Kapuso star, Kyline Alcantara, who just recently confirmed to be dating basketball athlete Kobe Paras. Cosmopolitan Philippines’ first-ever Cosmo Crush Kobe admitted their relationship in a Cosmo Confessions episode. Asked for a reaction to his ex’s new romance, Mavy said, “If the person’s happy, I’m happy.” The 23-year-old Kapuso star was interviewed by GMA Networks’ Nelson Canlas.

And because Kyline and Mavy are working for the same home network, it was probably unavoidable for them to meet. Is Mavy okay with running into Kyline after their breakup? He told Nelson, “Yeah, yeah, a couple of times. Nag-smile, yeah. It’s been okay naman.” He also declared, “I’ve always been civil and at the end of the day, we’re all just looking for happiness in our lives.”

Mavy expressed his desire to end the year on a peaceful note, focusing on just being happy for everyone no matter the circumstances. “Let’s end the year on a good note na peaceful. What’s done is done also and lahat naman masaya.”

Kyline and Mavy broke up in 2023. The two never disclosed to the public the reason for their breakup. The public got wind of their separation after they posted less as a couple on their Instagram feeds and didn’t appear together as much at public events.

After which followed a series of cryptic posts from Mavy’s mother Carmina Villaroel, and Kyline. In November 2023, Carmina shared the quotes, “Dear Mavy and Cassy, People can destroy your image, damage your personality, [and] create rumors about you, but they can never take away your good deeds. Because no matter how they describe you, you will always be admired by those who love you best;” and “Mom knows best,” leading to speculations about Kyline and Mavy’s breakup.

Mavy Legaspi is happy about being single

Mavy first entered showbiz known as Carmina’s son and of course, as the twin brother of Cassy Legaspi. His career flourished more after starring in various teleseryes like I Left My Heart in Sorsogon, Luv Is: Love at First Read, and more.

Now that he’s turning 24, Mavy is focusing on himself. He’s happy and enjoying his time as a single guy at the moment. “I’m mingling in the gym working out. Ang masasabi ko lang, my heart’s happy,” he stated.

Earlier this year, Mavy surprised the Internet with his transformation as he seemed to have focused on losing some weight. He posted a photo of him at the gym, with an obvious weight loss! No more baby fats, his fans commented. Well, according to Mavy himself, he’s preparing for his comeback project, hence the frequent visits to the gym!
