Cựu đồng đội của Michael Jordan nêu tên cầu thủ gây sốc xứng đáng được gọi là GOAT của NBA

Jordan’s former teammate has caused some surprise with his selection.
A former teammate of Michael Jordan believes one NBA star is continuously overlooked as one of the sport’s all-time greats.

LA Lakers icon James Worthy played alongside Jordan during his time at the University of North Carolina.

The duo became teammates in 1982 before later facing off against each other during their professional careers in the NBA.

Worthy recently made headlines in the US, however, admitting one player does not receive the plaudits he believes he deserves.

A three-time champion in his own right, it is easy to see why the 35-year-old is often snubbed.

“I do,” Worthy said when asked if he sees Kevin Durant as part of the GOAT conversation.

“I’ve loved him since Texas. If I’m choosing somebody, he might be…Durant is cold-blooded at his height.

“And I think because there’s so much attention on other players right now — he hasn’t been forgotten about — but he’s just been schmoozing along, and he still can put up numbers.”

Durant began his career with the Seattle SuperSonics back in 2007 as the first pick in the NBA draft.

Although having to wait patiently for his time in the spotlight, Durant’s time soon came with the Golden State Warriors.

Back-to-back NBA titles in 2017 and 2018 allowed him to show the world his talents on the big stage.

Icons like Jordan and even the late Kobe Bryant have praised Durant’s impact in the sport over the last few years.

The former Brooklyn Nets star admits he carries those words with him and respects what those before him have done for the sport of basketball.

“It still gives me chills to this day,” Durant told Jamal Crawford. “I played for that validation from my peers.

“I feel like I’m playing to shift the game forward and I respect what they’ve put into the game.

“It’s only right for me to live up to that standard every day. I want them to say, ‘Oh, you’re doing it the right way.’

“Especially guys like Kob, MJ, you, Bron, Melo, all the guys I watched, T-Mac.

“The people that watch my game and have been watching me since I came into the league.

“For them to give me that respect, that’s like a championship to me. We’re a brotherhood.”
