One car from Michael Jordan’s extraordinary collection is up for sale, and it happens to be one of the rarest motors in the world.
Michael Jordan is undoubtedly the greatest basketball player of all time, having dazzled fans with his skills over 15 seasons playing in the NBA.
As you might expect for someone who won six NBA championships, was named NBA MVP five times and launched the best-selling sports shoe of all-time with Nike, Jordan earned quite the fortune during his career.
Jordan has spent some of his reported £1.52 billion fortune on cars, and one vehicle he previously owned is now up for sale.
Back when Mercedes and McLaren worked together, they teamed up to produce rod car based on the legendary 300 SLR Uhlenhaut Coupe.
The resulting SLR McLaren combined sophisticated design with luxury comfort and top-level performance, helping to redefine what a supercar was in the process.
Several variants of the car were produced, but the 722 edition – owned by Jordan – was the rarest.
Named after the 300 SLR that Stirling Moss and Denis Jenkinson drove to victory at the 1955 Mille Miglia – which was called the ‘722’ due to its morning start time – the car featured a modified engine, an upgraded suspension, revised aero elements, and bigger wheels.

The car has a reworked supercharged 5.4-liter V-8 engine, which pumps out 641 horses and 606 ft lbs of twist, a noticeable jump from the 617 hp and 575 ft lbs of torque produced by the standard version.
Only 150 of the 722 edition of the car where ever made, making it one of the rarest and most desirable cars in the world.
The SLR McLaren owned by Jordan is finished in Crystal Antimon Grey Metallic and rides on a set of brushed Ankry wheels that offer a peek at the red brake calipers.
The interior is covered in black leather and Alcantara with red contrast stitching, a reference to Jordan’s time with the Bulls.
TBTFW is asking $649,995 for the vehicle, significantly more than the $480,000 the car cost brand new.
