Bigi Jackson, 22, pursues a career in filmmaking, is interested in environmental issues, and has a close relationship with her half-siblings.

After many years of living a private life, Michael Jackson’s youngest child is now attracting attention due to conflicts with her grandmother Katherine, 93. On March 20, Bigi Jackson asked the Los Angeles Superior Court to prevent her from using money from the estate to pay court fees related to her late father’s music copyright.

According to several news agencies, the grandmother and granddaughter filed a lawsuit in Los Angeles to protest the $600 million deal between Michael Jackson’s estate and Sony. While Bigi accepted the judge’s ruling dismissing the lawsuit, Katherine still appealed.

Bigi Jackson, born in 2002, real name is Prince Michael Jackson Jr II. He was born through surrogacy, his biological mother is unknown. The “King of Pop” named his youngest son Blanket (blanket) meaning blessing, showing love and care. In 2015, Blanket changed his nickname to Bigi. Many news agencies reported that the late artist’s son was bullied by his friends because of his old name.

Before Michael Jackson died in 2009, Bigi had never fully appeared in front of the press. At that time, the Thriller singer was accused of child abuse and was always in the media’s sights. To protect his children from paparazzi, he forced Prince, born in 1997, Paris, born in 1998, and Bigi to cover their faces whenever they went out. Michael’s children lived at the Neverland Ranch in California and were home-schooled. The first time Bigi appeared in public was at his father’s funeral, when he was seven years old. Bigi Jackson has a quieter life than his siblings. News agencies once called him the “invisible child” of the Jackson family because he was rarely seen in public. According to the Daily Mail , Michael’s son does not use social media or attend major events, only occasionally appearing in posts by Prince and Paris.

On March 27, the Jackson children attended MJ: The Musical – a musical tribute to the late artist at the Prince Edward Theater (London). This was the first time all three appeared in public together since the event in memory of their late father in Los Angeles in 2012.

People said Bigi and her half-siblings have always had a good relationship. Prince and Paris are the children of Michael Jackson and his ex-wife Deborah Rowe. In a 2019 interview with Entertainment Weekly , Prince Jackson said his younger brother had a different way of perceiving and studying film because his father encouraged him to learn and hire instructors when he was young. Bigi once said in the documentary Jacksonology: Our Story (2012) that he wanted to be a director when he grew up.

Like his father, Bigi Jackson is also interested in community activities. In 2019 , he spoke about the late artist’s charitable legacy and the influence he had on his children. Bigi also called on leaders to focus on tackling climate change. “I know we still have a lot of work to do, but my generation is still aware of the importance of protecting the environment,” he said.

The New York Post reported that Bigi and his siblings receive $8 million annually from their father’s estate, in addition to special payments when they reach the ages of 30, 35 and 40.

In 2020, Bigi bought a $2.6 million six-bedroom mansion in California for her 18th birthday, moving out after 11 years with her grandmother. According to Celebrity Net Worth , Bigi Jackson’s fortune reached $150 million, as of February.
