Chie Filomeno is ‘happy’ with everything that is going on in her career, love life, and family. Her self-love routine includes going on a ‘date with herself’ during her downtime. ‘You have to take yourself out on a date so that you will know what you want in your life, or the things that make you stressed out. You will understand what you need and what you don’t need in your life,’ she says.

MANILA, Philippines — Chie Filomeno is “happy” with everything that is going with her career, love life, and family.

“Yes, (I’m happy) with everything — with my career, my love life, my family, my management, with SkeenCare, I’m just really happy. I’m just really happy with all the blessings that were given to me. You are all here, thank you for being part of my journey (as well),” the Kapamilya actress told the select press at the SkeenCare’s anniversary celebration and product launch held recently at the Grand Hyatt Manila. Chie was introduced as the brand’s first ambassador and endorser.

She and Jake Cuenca are “happy” and just “keeping things low-key.” “We know naman he’s already Jake Cuenca but to think like nirerespeto niya yung gusto kong mangyari, yung time. Of course, I just don’t want to be Jake Cuenca’s someone or significant other. He’s very respectful in that aspect and I’m really happy.”

Asked if they also talked about the status of their relationship, Chie said, “The usual kung ano yung private life. It’s not a secret, so I must keep it private so that not too many people will meddle.”

Meanwhile, the “Can’t Buy Me Love” actress is a proud “ate” to the “nation’s girl group” BINI that just mounted their three-day concert at the New Frontier Theater.

“Super nakakatuwa because I’ve seen them grow up,” she stated. “I’ve seen the hardship that they went through. They really worked hard for this.

“I’m like a proud ate to them because P-pop already has a platform and our culture could also be shared to other countries. We’ve seen how popular BINI is. I’m just really happy and grateful also that finally, proud Filipino talaga tayo.”

Chie is also thankful for the trust given to her by the beauty brand SkeenCare. Chie’s favorite among its products is the rejuvenating set.

The brand’s event was graced by chief executive officer Nars Caballero and chief operating officer Lei Langamin.

“As we celebrate SkeenCare’s milestone, this is a celebration of combined effort and commitment to the product. Our mission has always been clear — to empower every Filipino with cost-efficient and effective beauty and wellness products,” remarked Langamin.

Chie shared that her skincare routine involves always removing her makeup before going to bed, cleansing, and using toner and moisturizer, and of course, sunblock.

Apart from taking care of one’s face and skin, Chie still emphasized the importance of taking care of one’s self from within.

“Not only from the outside. Don’t deprive yourself of food. Don’t deprive yourself from the things that you wanna learn. Of course, we still need that in our daily lives,” she said.

“To keep a glowing skin, SkeenCare is there to help me and the people around me. (They play) a major role in your life and you don’t easily get tired in everything that you do when you’re working, when you love what you do.”

Chie’s self-love routine is to go on a date during her downtime.

“You have to take yourself out on a date. So that you will know what you want in your life… or like things that make you stressed out. You will know what you need and you don’t need in your life,” she said.

She also reminded everyone to avoid stressing themselves out. And in order to do that, you have to “surround yourself with people who won’t judge you and won’t tolerate you for (the wrong) things that you do,” added Chie.

The former “Pinoy Big Brother” housemate particularly feels confident and beautiful when she is with the people she loves and respects.

“It took a long time before I got that self-confidence,” admitted Chie. “Yung feeling na I am me. That kind of feeling. It’s a long process,” she said. But she takes comfort in the fact that she’s surrounded by people that she loves and who are always there for her.
