This is the latest activity Heart Evangelista has done with the Senate Spouses Foundation.

Global fashion and style icon Heart Evangelista is truly getting into her role as the president of the Senate Spouses Foundation (SSFI) as she takes part in yet another project with the foundation.

In one of the more recent posts on her Instagram account, Heart posted a video of her and other members of the SSFI distributing essential school supplies to 1,000 elementary school students coming back to school in Paniqui, Tarlac.

Heart and the SSFI also distributed rice packs to the parents of the student, who Heart said were mostly tricycle drivers and homemakers. In the caption to the post, she wrote that while the weather was bad, it did not daunt her and the SSFI from delivering on their mission to improve the lives of people.

This trip to Paniqui, Tarlac is the most recent activity that Heart has done with the SSFI. Last month, Heart met up with the Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO) general manager Mel Robles “to explore ways we can work together to help our people and the community.”

Heart took her oath as the new SSFI president early in June During the ceremony, Heart delivered a speech where she promised to continue the organization’s work.

“The legacies left by all the ladies before me, a treasure of stories and testaments of service to the nation is something that encourages me to continue what they have started, to make a difference and to inspire not only SSFI members but also individuals and groups who have the power do something in improving the lives of people around us,” she said. “I am bravely taking on these duties. It is inspiring to see what we can accomplish and what kind of changes we can all make together.”

The Senate website describes the SSFI as being “involved in socio-civic activities such as building homes for the elderly, conducting medical and dental missions, gift-giving and feeding programs for street children and the needy in marginalized communities and carrying-out relief operations during disasters, among others.”

Aside from her work with SSFI, Heart also attended the recent State of the Nation Address, wearing Filipiniana made by designer Michael Leyva.
