Vice Ganda utilizes TikTok account to help spread news about Carina: ‘Pause lang po muna ako sa mga GV-GV’

Vice Ganda is taking a short break from her usual humorous and entertaining TikTok content to give way to news and information regarding Typhoon Carina.

In a video she posted on Thursday, the “It’s Showtime” host first clarified her account was not hacked.

“Siguro po meron sa inyong mga nagtataka o inaakalang na-hack po ‘yung TikTok ko dahil ang laman po ng TikTok ko ngayon eh puro mga tungkol dun sa bagyo dito sa Pilipinas. Well, hindi po. Sinadya ko pong i-extend muna ‘yung mga social media platforms ko like ‘yung Facebook fan page ko at ito pong TikTok account ko upang maging daan sa pagdi-disseminate o pagse-spread ng mga balita tungkol sa Pilipinas,” Vice said.

She doing this in hopes of reaching more people in spreading news and information, she said.

“Pause lang po muna ako sa mga GV-GV o playtime na mga contents para magbigay daan sa pagse-spread ng mga information and current news,” Vice said.

Metro Manila, Bataan, Bulacan, Batangas, and Cavite were placed under a state of calamity this week amid heavy rainfall and massive flooding brought by Typhoon Carina and the Habagat.

Many celebrities, including Heart Evangelista, Marian Rivera, and Dingdong Dantes, are helping to donate and distribute relief goods to affected residents.

Sparkle has likewise joined GMA Kapuso Foundation’s Operation Bayanihan in bringing assistance to those who have affected by Carina. Apart from diverting the proceeds from the recently concluded GMA Gala for the benefity of communities affected by the calamities, Sparkle stars have also volunteered their services to repack relief goods at GMA Kapuso Foundation.

Meanwhile, A’TIN and the GMA Kapuso Foundation will hold a donation drive during the upcoming concert of Julie Anne San Jose and Stell. Fans can donate relief goods, while cash and GCash donations will also be accepted.

Several organizations and businesses have also launched donation drives to provide food, water, and other essential items to those affected by the floods.
