Aegis band, in a recent post on their official Facebook account, issued an appeal to those who have been spreading fake information about their late member, Mercy Sunot.

“Pakiusap mula sa AEGIS. Kami po ay taus-pusong nananawagan sa lahat na huwag po sanang paniwalaan ang mga kumakalat na maling impormasyon tungkol kay Mercy,” the band said in their statement.
“Hindi po siya gumagamit ng anumang bisyo, at siya ay hindi naninigarilyo o umiinom,” the band added.
The band also debunked rumors saying that it was Juliet herself in an interview who was the source of such talks.
“Wala rin pong anumang panayam na ibinigay si Juliet na naglalaman ng mga pahayag laban sa kanyang kapatid,” the legendary Pinoy rock band said.
Near the end of their statement, the band asked for respect, not only for Mercy, but also for her grieving family.
“Nais po naming humiling ng respeto, hindi lamang para kay Mercy, kundi pati na rin para sa kanyang pamilya,” the band said in their statement.
“Isipin po sana natin ang bigat ng epekto ng ganitong mga maling balita. Sa paghahangad ng atensyon at ‘clicks’, nawawala po ang paggalang sa dignidad ng mga yumao,” the statement said.
The band then asked everyone to first reflect and be responsible in sharing information to others.

Mercy Sunot is one of the main vocalists of the Pinoy legendary rock band, Aegis. She is known for her vocal power and for singing powerful songs. Aegis is very popular for their songs “Halik,” “Basang-Basa Sa Ulan,” “Luha,” “Sinta,” and many more. It can be recalled that news of the sudden demise of Mercy, vocalist of the legendary Pinoy rock band Aegis, shocked the Pinoy showbiz industry. Among the first to break the sad news on social media was Frankie Ballesteros, one of the band’s key crew members. Juliet Sunot, the sister of Mercy, also changed her profile photo into one that signifies losing a loved one. It can be recalled that Mercy was able to provide an update about her condition a couple of days ago.
More than a week before she died, Mercy was still able to upload her own APT dance challenge on TikTok. One can also see her joyous caption, happily asking everyone to just let her dance as it is her birthday. The Aegis vocalist celebrated her birthday just last November 6. It can be recalled that Mercy underwent a lung operation last week and on Saturday, was able to post her last video appealing for prayers.
