Kapamilya Primetime King Coco Martin revealed his initial hesitations about casting his brothers, Ronwaldo Martin and Ryan Martin, in the hit series ‘FPJ’s Batang Quiapo.’
In the recent episode of ‘Ogie Diaz Inspires’ aired on Sunday, November 17, Coco admitted he felt uneasy about bringing his siblings into the project, fearing it might be misinterpreted as favoritism.
However, Coco clarified that he treats his brothers no differently from other cast members and crew.
“Gano’n ako kabalanse,” he added, emphasizing his professional approach.
Ryan Martin made his acting debut in ‘FPJ’s Batang Quiapo,’ while Ronwaldo Martin’s first teleserye role was in ‘FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano.’
Before joining the small screen, Ronwaldo gained recognition in the indie film scene, winning Best Actor at the Harlem International Film Festival in New York City in 2017.
Coco’s dedication to nurturing his brothers’ careers reflects his values as a family-oriented actor and mentor.
Now celebrating its second year on air, ‘FPJ’s Batang Quiapo’ remains a primetime favorite, with its gripping storylines and strong performances captivating audiences nationwide.
Coco’s leadership and commitment to quality storytelling ensure the series has a long way to go.
