Kathryn Bernardo and Enrique Gil first team-up was in the 2012 ABS-CBN series “Princess And I.” EG wants to rebuild this loveteam once again.

This was after the actor starred in various films this 2024 including I Am Not Big Bird and Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF) entry Strange Frequencies: Taiwan Killer Hospital which wrapped up his comeback year in the industry.

“More projects for my production company. Actually I have one show coming up for ABS-CBN co-production ako po ang nag pitch sa ABS-CBN and super natuwa ako dahil nagustuhan ni Tita Cory (Vidanes) ang concept and they green lit the project,” Gil told to the DAILY TRIBUNE during the MMFF awards night on Friday.

Gil was also happy with the positive outcome of his film as it received good reviews from the audiences.

“Very happy. We weren’t expecting much we just thought of a cool concept compared to the other enrtries na talagang acting pieces na talagang grand, grand cast and everything. We were just happy to be part of the entry and I’m a huge horror fan sana po magustuhan po ng mga manunuood ang type of horror na na ginagawa namin. It has never been seen in Philippine cinema,” he shared.

Without discussing any details, the actor and now producer were also excited to share his upcoming project with ABS-CBN which will be shot in Europe.

“It’s a TV series, co-production ko ito super exciting and we will be shooting in Europe next year but more details to follow,” he said.

As he finally returned to acting, the actor also reacted to rumors saying that he would be teaming up again with actress Kathryn Bernardo who was his first love team in the 2012 Kapamilya series “Princess And I.”

“I am not sure about that. I haven’t heard about that. But you know, I am also open to anything of course,” he said.
