Kapamilya star Kathryn Bernardo and Kapuso leading man Alden Richards made the rounds of two morning shows Friday to promote their upcoming film “Hello, Love, Goodbye” under Star Cinema.

During their visit to GMA-7’s morning show “Unang Hirit”, Bernardo described her first impression of Richards as “mature but fun.” The two are teaming up for the first time in the new movie directed by Cathy Garcia-Molina.

“Ako first impression ko sa kanya nung story con very mature, ‘yung matandang mature. Nag-uusap lang sila ni Inang at direk Cathy nakikinig lang ako, ‘mature siya ano?’ … Mature siya pero fun, fun,” she said.

In a separate interview with ABS-CBN’s “Umagang Kay Ganda”, Bernardo said she felt nervous at first upon hearing that she would be working with Richards for the first time.

“Kinakabahan po kasi. Kinabahan ako noon hindi lang halata. Kasi sobrang stranger kami sa isa’t isa. Sinadya yata na hindi kami ipag-meet nung miniting. So nung first may tantiyahan, kapaan. Di ko alam kung paano siya kausapin. Pero naging okay lahat kasi si direk Cathy nandiyan sila. Tapos naging warm at napaka-positive ng lahat so walang naging awkward sa aming masyado ni Alden at naging magkaibigan kami sa paggawa nitong movie,” she said.

The support of co-stars such as Joross Gamboa and Jeffrey Tam also helped, she added.

For his part, Richards said he had met Bernardo several times during awards shows but never got to talk to her.

“Kami ni Kath nagkikita na kami sa mga event before. (Sa) awarding, awards night, pero ‘hi, hello’ lang talaga. Walang usap, ‘hi, hello’ lang. Courtesy lang. I’ve known Kath as very madaling, very magaan ang loob ko sa kanya, very sweet. Kaya hindi na rin ako nahirapan talaga na makibagay kasi ‘yun hinayaan niya lang ako and her team,” said Richards.

“Yung conversation namin minsan nagpa-pop up lang,” the actor added.

The actor said he initially thought that Bernardo would be quiet and guarded. That all changed when they started shooting the movie in Hong Kong.

“Mabait naman po si Kath, palabati. Magaan po ang feelings ko towards her. Akala ko before na tahimik siya mahirap kausapin. Parang isang tanong, isang sagot. Tinitimbang ko pa po, parang ‘di ko pa malabas ang tunay na kulit. Then after story con, nagkita na po kami sa Hong Kong, we started shooting, sobrang gaan lang po ng everyday,” he said.
