There’s no doubt that LeBron James has crowned himself with his talent. But at the same time, the Akron Hammer could not have stayed at the top for a long time without his fitness regime. And the NBA world never shied away from appreciating it. Even to this day, one can come across tons of online articles claiming to have cracked King James’ fitness routine. While everyone’s inspired by the superstar, an NFL legend had a different say.
At one point, the conversation shifted toward the player’s build in the two sports. McCoy said, “The height y’all’s arm length (NBA)… y’all’s are quick twitching and how we (NFL) move like, you can’t lift the way I have to lift. You have to lift completely different ’cause the fluidity of this when you start getting like this (McCoy gestured muscular build) it changes.”
But right before making this opinion, he added, “If we thought about the greatest athletes of all time you’re not getting past six without mentioning LeBron James… or Michael Jordan.” This clearly highlighted that LBJ’s build is not cut out for the NFL. However, on the other hand, former NBA star Rashad McCants, who was sitting on the panel, didn’t agree with the opinion. He countered by saying, “That’s not true, that’s a myth bro… durable motherfu***r have lasted in the league.”
How much does LeBron James spend on fitness?
Reportedly, James spends around $1.5 million a year which includes trainers, gym, massage therapists, chefs, appliances, and more. Moreover, it’s not only the media that speaks about the superstar’s fitness but also his fellow players. Kevin Durant, speaking of James’ routine, said, “One thing I learned about LeBron, I worked out with him, LeBron takes care of his body… He knows that for him to play that long, his body has to be up. He has to keep that in shape. Like, he works on his body, like, religiously.”
In a few weeks, James will step into his 22nd NBA season and will look to get his fifth ring. And to forget his monumental effort at the Paris Olympics, winning the gold medal along with the MVP honor. The Chosen One has definitely gone all the way to make a case that he is the best.
