It came after Norris had achieved 15 podiums without taking the chequered flag.
His victory was also McLaren’s first since Daniel Ricciardo won the 2021 Italian Grand Prix.
Norris has left fans convinced he is a time traveller, though, after taking a lie detector test ahead of the race.
A video shared to Sky Sports F1’s YouTube channel on Sunday showed Norris answering a series of questions.
When asked if he will win a race in 2024, he answered “Yes,” which was deemed true by the lie detector.
Explaining his answer, Norris added: “I’m just fed up of not believing so I decided to change my attitude.”
Fans flocked to the comments section after spotting the prediction had come true.
One fan wrote: “Definitely wasn’t lying when he said he’d win a race this year.”

Meanwhile, another said: “This aged like fine wine.”
The Brit was later asked if he is going to be a world champion one day.
Norris again said “yes” and answered the same when pressed if it would be with McLaren, who he has driven for since his F1 debut in 2019.
His win in Miami leaves Norris fourth in the Drivers’ Championship ahead of the Emilia Romagna Grand Prix at Imola on May 19.
