Kuldeep Yadav recalled his candid conversation with David Beckham. Yadav expressed his admiration for Manchester United, revealing that his allegiance to the club was not solely due to Beckham’s influence.

Beckham, known for his humility and graciousness both on and off the field, welcomed Yadav’s honesty and shared his own experiences as a footballer.

Kuldeep Yadav’s interaction with football legend David Beckham during the ICC ODI World Cup 2023 made headlines.

However, in a candid conversation with R Ashwin on his YouTube show, Yadav revealed a surprising truth—he told the England footballer

that he wasn’t a fan of Beckham but Paul Scholes during his formative years as a Manchester United supporter.

“I actually followed Manchester United because of Paul Scholes,” Yadav admitted, leaving Ashwin momentarily speechless.

Scholes, a midfield maestro revered for his technical brilliance and long-range shooting, was a fan favourite at Old Trafford during Yadav’s youth.

Beckham was in attendance to watch the India vs New Zealand semi-final in Mumbai clash as part of being the UNICEF goodwill ambassador alongside Sachin Tendulkar.

Beckham was spotted meeting many members of the Indian team before the big match, and his interaction with Virat Kohli went viral. In fact, Beckham was spotted giving Virat Kohli a warm embrace after the Indian cricket legend created history by scoring his 50th ODI century.

However, it is Bechham’s conversation with Kuldeep Yadav ahead of the game that has taken social media by storm. The star Indian wrist spinner is a big football fan and regularly posts about the sport and gives opinions on it on social media.

Kuldeep was visibly in awe of meeting Beckham and had a fanboy moment.

In the chat with Ashwin, he also said that after retirement, he wants to work in the football circuit and help Indian football grow.
