A dream super-fight between Mike Tyson and Tyson Fury has been simulated – with incredible results.
Tyson has only had one fight since his retirement from professional boxing in 2005 – a 2020 exhibition against Roy Jones Jr – meaning boxing fans haven’t been able to see him take on some of today’s star names such as Fury, Anthony Joshua and Oleksandr Usyk.
‘Iron Mike’ is yet to definitively rule out another return to the ring in the future, but with the announcement that the 57-year-old will feature in the new Turin-based movie ‘Bunny-Man’, he has plenty to occupy himself with at the moment.
Boxing fans, therefore, have had to rely on simulations to see how Tyson might get on against the best boxers of the present day.
Over the years, YouTube account Boxing Fight Simulations has done exactly that, using the popular ‘Fight Night Champion’ video game that was released back in 2011.
One fight the user got the game to simulate was a dream matchup between Tyson and Fury – which would see two fighters with wildly differing styles face off against each other.
You can watch the full fight below.
The fight uses Tyson’s model at 20 years of age, when he became the youngest heavyweight champion in boxing history.
Fury, meanwhile, wasn’t a licensed fighter when the game was released in 2011, with his model a created character.
‘Iron Mike’ dominates the early stages of the fight, landing several body shots on Fury as ‘The Gypsy King’ throws several near misses.
Fury then lands a head shot on his opponent, while Tyson continued to throw his hands.
Then, in the second round, Fury landed the first knockdown of the bout, striking a hard punch to the side of Tyson’s head. ‘Iron Mike’ made it up by the count of five, but he was suddenly up against it.

He was floored for a second time in round three with a shot to the same side of the head, but again managed to get to his feet by a five count.
Just as Tyson began to find some rhythm, though, he went down for a third time in round four as Fury began to celebrate – but got up by the count of nine.
Tyson then cut Fury in round six as he regained momentum, but once the bell rang for the eighth round, ‘The Gypsy King’ was eight points clear of his opponent.
A fourth knockdown was enough for Fury, with Tyson unable to get to his feet as the referee called off the contest to close out a commanding victory.

We sense that, if the fight had been held between both men at their respective ages in the clip, we’d see a closer outcome.
