The boxing world is having a great time this year. The past few months have seen some of the best boxing action in the ring. There are a ton of exciting bouts scheduled for May and June. One is boxing legend Mike Tyson taking on Youtuber turned boxer Jake Paul in an eight-round fight. The boxing world was shaken when Mike Tyson announced his return to professional boxing against a much younger Jake Paul. At 57 years old, Tyson is a heavy underdog in the ring.

In this article, we look at how Mike can defy the odds and emerge victorious against a three-decade-younger opponent.

1. Mike Tyson’s heavy boxing combinations

Mike Tyson is known for his powerful boxing combinations of Jabs, crosses, and uppercuts. He has beaten many top-tier heavyweights just by effectively using his combinations. Despite being 57, Tyson is in the best shape of his life and can quickly shut the lights out of Jake Paul if he hits him with some combinations. It’ll be interesting to see if Mike will close the gap and inflict heavy damage on Paul.

2. Taking the fight to the distance

It might not be wise for Mike Tyson to want to fight the entire duration of the bout, but it was recently announced that the fight is eight rounds, each two minutes. Jake Paul struggled a lot in the later rounds against Tommy Fury and was even seen breathing via his mouth. Tyson, being far more experienced, can try to take the fight to later rounds and hurt Jake Paul in the later rounds.

3. Defensive Approach

The boxing world has noticed that Jake Paul has a brawler fighting style. He has finished most of his opponents while getting into primary scraps and brawls. Mike Tyson can take a lesson from Floyd Mayweather’s playbook and try to equip a defensive approach inside the boxing ring, counter Jake Paul’s strikes, and put him to sleep.
