Victoria Beckham has taken credit for son Brooklyn Beckham’s cooking skills after the budding chef was slammed over his latest dish. Earlier this week, the 25-year-old took to social media to create a Flying Dutchman burger using products from Chosen foods.

Brooklyn kicked off the video giving fans a step-by-step guide of his creation from cutting up some potatoes, “two similar sized” onions and frying his chips in “100% avocado oil”. The eldest of Victoria and David Beckham then pressed the meat onto the grill before adding cheese and giving it all a try.

Brooklyn received mixed comments for his creation, as one of his followers wrote: “Awww he’s cute. And he loves his cooking. Good for you Brooklyn, your a lovely young man.”(sic) A second commented: “Looks delicious. Nothing like french fries and burgers. Great job.”

Another typed: “That looks brilliant Brooklyn you cook like your dad.” Others weren’t so kind as a fourth wrote: “It’s burger and chips you melt… this guy needs a hobby,” while others suggested he should go and work at McDonald’s.

Many more defended Brooklyn from the haters, as a fifth wrote: “I can’t believe how much hate this guy gets, he’s just living his life, scroll past if you don’t like it!” Amongst those in favour of his cooking videos are David and Victoria, who are no strangers to publicly supporting their children.

Taking to his Instagram Story, the former footballer shared Brooklyn’s post alongside the caption: “My boy just loves to cook, just like his dad. Burger was soooooo good Bust.”

Taking full credit for his skills however, Victoria shared her husband’s post and added: “He gets it from me!!!”

Brooklyn has previously responded to those who have criticised his cooking skills after previous dishes raised eyebrows.

Last year, he came under fire for his blow torch grilled cheese technique as well as his fried chicken recipe, but refuses to let the haters get in his way.

Speaking with Insider back in October, he said of the backlash: “To be honest, I’m used to the hate.

“It doesn’t really bother me. Cooking makes me happy. I have more important things to worry about than people saying a little bit of rubbish about me.”

Three months later, Brooklyn confirmed he had never participiated in a cooking class but had taught himself how to cook through watching others.

He told The Times: “Unfortunately, I’ve never done, like, a cooking class, but I’m obsessed with watching MasterClass [online classes with experts in their field].

“I’ve always loved that. I’ve been lucky enough to do videos and hang out with all these different types of chefs, learning different things, like [the renowned US baker] Nancy Silverton, who is one of my favourite chefs. She’s a really cool person.”

Brooklyn has had quite the eclectic career journey from dabbling in modelling, photography, football and a brief stint in a music video for The Vamps.

The Beckham has previously said that while he cherished photography, it was cooking that truly ignited his passion.

Speaking to Variety in 2022, he shared: “I was still trying to find that one thing I would literally die for, and I found that with cooking.” In response to those leaving negative comments on his post, he went on to say he wished “the haters well”.
