Big news keep rolling in, as Anthony Jennings has finally addressed the controversy involving him and Maris Racal following her earlier statement. The cheating allegations, which have dominated headlines for days, took another turn as Anthony issued a 22-second public apology at around 7 p.m. today, December 6, 2024.
“Sa lahat ng mga nangyari noong nakaraang araw, sa lahat ng mga taong nasaktan ko, especially po si Maris at si Jam, humihingi po ako ng tawad sa dalawang babae,” Anthony expressed.
“At sa lahat ng mga nadamay ko doon po. Yun lamang po, sorry po,” he added.
The controversy started when Anthony’s ex-girlfriend, Jamela Villanueva, shared screenshots online, alleging that he and Maris were romantically involved while he was still in a long-term relationship with her. Jamela, known as Jam, claimed the affair led to the end of her seven-year relationship with Anthony. The screenshots quickly went viral, followed by online backlash and intense discussions among netizens.
Maris Racal Shares Her Side Of The Story Over Alleged Cheating
Earlier, Maris Racal didn’t hold back as she openly admitted to having an overlapping relationship with Anthony while still committed to her then-boyfriend, Rico Blanco. According to her statement, it eventually caused the end of her relationship with Rico.
However, Maris clarified that after her breakup with Rico, Anthony also disclosed that he was no longer in a relationship, which led her to believe that she was not the other woman. According to Maris, Anthony assured her that he had already broken up with his long-term partner, Jam, at the time their more serious romantic exchanges began.
“He would be very sweet to me. He would be such a gentleman to me. He would say things to me. He would tease me on the set in front of other people. He would tell all the people who were close to me that he was single,” Maris explained. “So, I was confident to act a certain way around him on the set. Because in the eyes of the people there, we were both single. We worked every day,” she added.
Maris also revealed that she repeatedly urged Anthony to release an official statement regarding his breakup with Jam, especially after Jam’s cryptic TikTok reposts started fueling online backlash towards her. “I asked him, when are you going to release a statement that you’re not together anymore? Because in the eyes of the public, you were taken. But I know that you’re not,” she said, explaining that the online hate had taken a toll on her.
“He would tell me he was waiting for the right moment. I didn’t want to be pushy. I didn’t want to aggravate things. So I waited and kept quiet,” Maris added.
