Are the two dating already?

We’ve had enough of breakups this year—but hey, we also had some slight confirmations a.k.a. soft launches, about budding romances between celebrities…we just have to look closely tho 😉 When we did, we found something interesting about Mavy Legaspi‘s past Instagram Stories and recent posts.

Last December 10, 2024, it was (another) random day at work and we were just scrolling on Instagram Stories. The usual way, tap, tap, swipe here and there, and then we saw Mavy and fellow Kapuso star, Ashley Ortega‘s Instagram Stories. First things first, they were probably both in Japan at the same time, since they both updated their social media on the same day.

These were the IG Stories we’ve seen. Okay, you might think that it’s just a normal pic from Japan like many other people would do. But Mavy and Ashley’s following posts triggered our curiosity once again if the two were really together during their Japan trip.

Ashley first posted an IG dump of her food pics while in Japan. She captioned it with, “Good food, good mood.” Well, it was the usual travel IG dump that made us want to visit Japan or go back to Japan (read: yes, I miss Japan). Ashley ate good Japanese food like ramen, wagyu, yakiniku (take note!), even convenience store food a.k.a. konbini food (you don’t want to miss it), and the famous turkey leg from Tokyo Disneyland.

Two days later, on December 16, Ashley added more snaps from her Japan trip. She captioned it with, “You had me at Konnichiwa.”

In the pics, she shared some of the locations she visited. It was also clear in the photos that it was not a solo trip as she came with some of her non-showbiz friends (as tagged in one photo). So, it was all nice and simply interesting to see Ashley have the time of her life in Japan—until Mavy posted his IG dump for his Japan trip as well.

On December 17, Mavy uploaded pics which he captioned with, “Konnichiwa.” (Matchy captions?) Mavy also shared the locations he visited, but looking closer into his pics, we kind of still want to know if he went to Japan with Ashley. In a photo, Mavy only uploaded a photo of a shadow showing that there were seven people on that trip with him.

Although we didn’t see their faces, what we’re sure of was that Ashley and Mavy posted almost similar photos—but from different angles—in their IG dump posts. To better give you a clearer picture, we’re sharing it all with you here.

Okay, first of all, the Wagyu cubes—the pics were taken from different angles, but the quantity and the presentation? Looks the same to us.

Then came the pic with the mountain. The spot where Mavy and Ashley and friends took the photos was pretty much the same.

Wait, there’s more. Remember the yakiniku we mentioned earlier? The two celebrities uploaded this pic and if we do the math (and even the measurements, LOL) the meat in the two pics was exactly the same—same amount, same position, same griller too.

And yes, we want to ask if they went to Disneyland together too.

Mavy has declared how happy he is as a single guy this year, after his controversial breakup with Kyline Alcantara. Meanwhile, Ashley has been reportedly single since her split with politician ex-boyfriend Mark Alcala.

Whatever the real story is, it’s totally up to Mavy and Ashley if they want to spill the tea. For now, we’re just here for the cute posts and good vibes. Whether as friends or something more, we’re rooting for them!
