It can be recalled that the Pinoy Olympic Team arrived home in the Philppines onboard a Philippine Airlines chartered flight from Paris.
The group landed in Villamor Airbase and after a brief respite, proceeded to the Malacañang Palace for the Heroes’ Welcome ceremony and dinner.
Aside from the Olympians, their coaches, trainers, and supporters, present during the event were government officials led by President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos, Jr., and some members of the Cabinet, as well as families and friends of the Olympians.

Carlos appeared nervous, obviously not expecting he would be making a speech, as he climbed up the podium to address those present.
“Mas nakakakaaba pa to a, kesa sa performance ko ah,” Carlos said at the outset.
He then proceeded to express his gratitude to all who supported them in their Olympic journey and those who prayed for them and stayed up late to watch the international competition.
“Maraming maraming salamat po sa mga taong nagdasal po. Nagtake ng effort magpuyat para panuorin po yung Olympics at masaksihan po yung mga pinagtrainingan po namin ng mga atletang Pilipino po,” the Pinoy Olympian added.
Carlos also thanked those responsible for ensuring they train well for the 2024 Paris Olympics.
“Gusto ko pong magpasalamat sa pagbigay po sa amin ng training camp sa Metz po. Sobrang laking tulong po nun sa akin. Nakapag-adjust sa oras, nagamay din po yung weather, kaya sobrang laking bagay sa akin po yun na naka-konekta po sa gintong medalya po,” he further said.
He also singled out Cynthia Carrion, who is the current president of the Gymnastics Association of the Philippines (GAP), and the Philippine Olympic Committee for their invaluable help and assistance.
“Maraming, maraming salamat po sa POC, kay Ma’am Cynthia, Gymnastics Association of the Philippines, siya po yung nag-handle po sa amin and nagtaguyod po sa gymnastics po. Maraming maraming salamat po sa inyo Ma’am Cynthia, grabe po yung suportang ibinigay nyo po,” the Pinoy Olympic twin-gold medalist said.
Addressing the athletes, he expressed pride in all of them, adding that they all shed sweat and blood for the country in the international competition.
He then reminded them that they need to buckle down to work immediately to prepare and equip themselves well in the next competition.
“Siyempre sa lahat po ng atleta po, sobrang proud po ako na ipinaglaban po natin, ibinigay po natin ang best natin sa lahat po. Dugo’t pawis yung inalay natin. Di pa nag-iistart yung competition, sobrang proud na proud na ako sa inyong lahat,” the Olympic twin-gold medalist said.
“At ngayong tapos na ang competition, iselebrate natin yung mga nakuha nating resulta at mas galingan pa natin sa mga susunod na mga competition. Maraming maraming salamat po. God bless you all po,” Carlos concluded.

After arriving at the Villamor Airbase around 7:20PM onboard a Philippine Airlines chartered flight where they had a brief respite, they were immediately brought to Malacañang. The President and the First Lady, along with their two sons, were on hand to welcome the Pinoy Olympians to the palace. The 2024 Paris Olympics is considered one of the most successful Olympic campaigns of the Philippines where the country was able to get two gold medals, courtesy of Carlos, and two bronze medals, courtesy of Aira Villegas and Nesthy Petecio.
Meanwhile, the teachers of Carlos Yulo had already spoken about the true attitude and character of the Olympian. All of them have nothing but kind words for him. His science teacher said that the Adamsonians were all so proud of him. Caloy’s English teacher noted that one thing that really helped Caloy was his humility, underscoring that he was never “mayabang.”
