Prince William has visited Aberdeen to thank homelessness organisations supporting rough sleepers.

The trip to the Granite City yesterday included a visit to Shelter Scotland on Crown Street and a reception at Union Kirk, where he was joined by organisations and charities working together to tackle homelessness in the region.

The Duke of Rothesay launched his Homewards project last year, a five-year campaign aimed at ending homelessness in the UK.

The first stop of the day was the Shelter Scotland office where he met with workers and service users tackling homelessness in Aberdeen.

William later joined members of Aberdeen’s homelessness sector at a thank-you reception, including broadcaster Gail Porter, a supporter of Homewards.

The Royal Foundation programme works in partnership with Homeless Network Scotland.

Homewards launched in six UK locations last year.
