Almost a month after Marian Rivera made a statement regarding their much-talked about feud, it is Heart Evangelista’s turn to tell her story.

In the July 21 press conference held at the Barrio Fiesta restaurant in Greenhills, San Juan, Heart admitted that there was “friction” between her and Marian during the shooting of their movie “Temptation Island” in Ilocos Norte.

Marian also made hints about this during the “Temptation Island” press conference last June 23. The actress had added that she thought it was merely a misunderstanding between friends. She did not elaborate on what exactly happened though.

” As far as I know — and it’s not just me, all the cast, cast and crew, even the director — everything is fine . We’re all fine. We talked a lot, we’re all fine . Sorry to drag and drop My name is Lovi, but he was there, we talked, we didn’t fight at all. That’s all, when I arrived at the airport, I was surprised ,” Marian said .

Marian refused to elaborate on what happened at the airport, but said: ” But what happened at the airport, it’s like we’re not friends. I’m just surprised why something like that happened when we left Laoag, we were all fine , we will all be happy, so I was also a little surprised that something like that happened when I arrived at the airport , even I was shocked that Lovi was there to comfort me .”

Back then, Heart did not give any statement about the supposed the conflict with Marian. She did have occasional tweets that hinted at what had transpired.

Confrontation

According to Heart, the conflict began when she expressed her excitement about working with Dingdong Dantes, Marian’s boyfriend.

“When she talked to me, she said that she heard something that I was excited to work with Dong and she requested that next time I don’t say that ,” Heart said.

In her official statement, Heart said she was supposed to work with Dingdong in a now-shelved project titled “Cain at Abel.”

She said Marian confronted her twice in her hotel room. It was there, according to Heart, that the “Amaya” lead star screamed and threatened her.

After the first confrontation, Heart asked the movie’s production staff to book her in a different room to prevent another confrontation.

” But when I was about to go to my room, he was there again and I didn’t do anything. After that, the production manager knocked on our head and he left . After that, everything was cloudy for me . I just worked there and I want to go home ,” Heart said.

Heart explained that she had no intention of calling her parents, but the movie’s head of production told her inform them about the incident.

When the movie staff and crew got back to Manila, Heart admitted that her mother, Cecille Ongpauco, met her at the airport. However, she denied reports that a confrontation happened between her mother and Marian. Heart also said bodyguards did not accompany her mom.

” There was no confrontation . My mom didn’t yell at her . It’s not true that we brought so many police. It was airport security. The two security people only assisted my mom because it’s not allowed to pick up passengers. there inside. He’s just outside waiting, in the baggage area,” Heart said.

She added, “So when I went out, my mom greeted the other actor who greeted her . And we left right away.”

Threats

The controversy that stemmed from the conflict, Heart said, affected both her personal life and career.

” I have received so many death threats from Marian’s fans that, of course, I am only human and I am afraid because there are threats that they will pour acid on me, they will pour acid on me. And it is no longer a joke that’s a bit shocking ,” Heart explained.

She also said: ” He just said that it was just a text to his fans, they will kill me .”

Four of Heart’s endorsement projects were allegedly also put on hold because of the negative publicity the issue generated.

Still, the “Dwarfina” lead star said she understands Marian’s fans for wanting to defend their idol.

” I’m just really bad, of course, because it’s a bit painful. Because of course, the things she said, and even my family felt sorry . And I love my job. From the day I started all I wanted to do was be professional and work. I don’t choose who is given to me, it’s okay as long as I can work . I raised my hands when this was happening. I said, ‘I don’t want to fight because I respect you and I look up to you,'” Heart explained.

She added, ” I just feel bad because the situation has been reversed. But it has come to the point where I really don’t know what I feel. I’ll take it one day at a time.”

No legal action

According to Heart’s lawyers, Archimedes Gonzalez and Camille Sevilla, they are not suing anyone at this point but the “possibility of filing the cases is on the table.”

“Our firm is still studying the extent of the damages that our client received because of these incidents. We’re getting ready to file appropriate cases if this doesn’t get resolved in the soonest possible time,” Gonzales said.

He added that Heart wants to resolve the conflict peacefully.

Gonzales explained that they held the press conference for the sake of fairness and to rebuild their client’s credibility, which was damaged by the issue.

“I think it’s important , Marian should own up to the truth, to her actions. Because what happened here, she was the first to reveal what happened, her version in ‘Temptation Island.’ But what happened was that our client was involved. So perhaps it should also come from Marian what really happened ,” Sevilla said.

Would their camp demand a retraction from Marian?

“Of course, we would appreciate that but our client right now just wants to get this down and over with. But of course, a retraction would be very much welcome,” Gonzales said.

Heart’s wish

“At the end of the day, I just want to work. Because this is all I want to do, right? I don’t want trouble, I don’t want anything. I just want to work. I don’t care who It seems that I have been hit in the head before, now I am here, I have been given a second chance at GMA, and then this is what happened ,” Heart said.

She added, ” I just want to work , period. I just want to live my life.”
