Vice Ganda admits he nearly quit “It’s Showtime” in the past

8 Oct – Although he has hosted “It’s Showtime” for a decade now, Vice Ganda recently admitted that there was a time that he nearly quit the show.

As reported on Inquirer, the TV personality, who spoke about his relationship with the said show, stated that he almost quit after the first year after experiencing exhaustion over having to come out with jokes and gimmicks every day.

“The changes in my life happened so fast and I couldn’t catch up. I felt like I couldn’t do the things I wanted to do. I couldn’t even go out of the house, do shows abroad or take side gigs because I had to do the show every day,” he said.

Ganda stated that being paid P5000 a day was also not enough at the time, as he has to pay for a lot of things including stylists and assistant.

“I also felt like I wasn’t funny anymore, that I had already run out of jokes. I wanted to return to the comedy bar because I was feeling rusty,” he said.

However, instead of letting him quit, the management gave him a month-long break so that he could recharge, which made him realised how much he missed the show and his co-host Anne Curtis.

“Now I can say that I am at the point of my life where I can say that I can’t live without “It’s Showtime”. It is significant in my life,” he said.
