MANILA — Last minute preparations are underway for the Heroes’ Grand Homecoming Parade for the Filipino athletes who competed at the Paris 2024 Olympics.

The parade was moved to August 14 Wednesday, a day after the arrival of Team Philippines.

MMDA personnel were putting up more posters of the country’s Olympians along streets in Manila part of the parade route on Tuesday morning.

They were hanging up posters of Olympic bronze medalists Nesthy Petecio and Aira Villegas, as well as posters of Team Philippines.

ABS-CBN News saw some personnel carrying posters along Quirino Avenue, where the parade will pass through on Wednesday.

The city of Manila earlier put up posters of Carlos Yulo, who grew up in Malate.

Malacañang said the parade, which will begin at 3 p.m, will cover 7.7 kilometers. It will start at Aliw Theater in Pasay and will end with a short program at Rizal Memorial Sports Complex in Manila.

MMDA advised motorists to take alternate routes to avoid heavy traffic in the area during the parade.

They released a list of alternate routes for those heading northbound and southbound.

MMDA said it will implement a “stop-and-go scheme” at intersections of roads affected by the parade.
